| MRL and Maltese Heritage RL meet in Belley |

The Rhône-Alpes village of Belley in Eastern France was host to the conference where discussions were also held regarding the development of rugby league within the Maltese community in Australia. Over four days, points of discussion included; - MRL Domestic Championship Following an inaugural season of the implementation of a development pathway for players from Australia into the Malta national team, the possibility was also raised towards a visit by an Australian-Maltese youth team to the Maltese Islands. Sydney based administrator Axisa commented, "The Australian-Maltese youth in New South Wales (NSW) have shown a renewed enthusiasm for Maltese Rugby League and it falls under the duty of Maltese Heritage Rugby League to develop that enthusiasm into increased playing numbers from the Maltese community in leagues around Sydney and across NSW".

MRL Operations Manager Anthony Micallef and Maltese Heritage RL Administrator David Axisa have spent five days in talks regarding the future of the greatest game on the Maltese Islands.
