| Draw announced for 2012 Malta International Tag Rugby Festival |
|
Malta Tag Rugby Tournament favourites Try-Tag Rugby All-Stars kick off the day with a fixture against Hilton Malta’s LivingWell Gym entry and on field two, The Pit take on Birkirkara Alligators RFC. A mixed entry from Malta’s rugby league champions, Sliema Stompers RFC, initiate rivalry proceedings when they open against Kavallieri RFC Youths and later against the MRL entry of The Knights. Malta Tag Rugby officials formulated the draw so that there would be no occurrences where a team’s both matches could be deemed as extremely difficult. On the contrary, the draw sees competitive match-ups across the board with the youth team entries each meeting one another before the possibility of meeting an international opposition in the finals. The festival is expected to welcome some 120 players and a large portion of the players will then celebrate throughout the evening at the Island Boat Party put together by event organisers, Boom Events. The Malta International Tag Rugby Festival has a participation fee of 5 euro per player, or players may take advantage of a special offer of only 13 euros that includes a ticket to the Island Boat Party. The Malta Rugby League (MRL) is an official partner of the Malta International Tag Rugby Festival along with Dove Men+Care. The Nordic Bar is the official major sponsor of the festival.
