Malta Rugby League
Two players suspended by match review panel

The MRL match review panel has highlighted it’s zero tolerance against unethical behaviour with the suspension of two players following incidents in last week’s third round of the MRL Dove Men+Care Championship match between Sliema Stompers and Malta Origin.

Sliema Stompers centre Matthew Camilleri was suspended for three months (12 weeks) for unsportsmanlike behaviour, ruling him out of Saturday’s international fixture between Malta and Denmark, and also the MRL Dove Men+Care Championship Final on June 13. Camilleri will be eligible to play again from Friday 31 August 2012.

The match review panel also found Malta Origin player Lewis Naphausen guilty of stomping and handed down the minimum two match suspension.
