Malta Rugby League
Maltese Rod in Dublin

Maltese coach Roderick Attard is in Dublin to complete his Level 2 RLEF Coach Certificate this week.

The Maltese born and bred former Gateshead Thunder player completed phase one of the three phase course at London’s Brunel University last year and will take the number of level two coaches in Malta to three.

Attard has played rugby union in Malta for a number of years and is also a committed regatta athlete, as well as more recently taking on rugby league in 2007, signing from the South to the Gateshead Thunder in 2010, and played tag rugby in London’s Try Tag Rugby competition as well as holding two national team appearances for Malta Rugby League against the British Defence Forces and Bamber Bridge ARLFC.

The 27-year-old will be joined at Dublin City University by coaches from Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Holland under the delivery of course director Martin Crick and RFL Head of Coaching Vinny Webb.
