Malta launch U20's

West Yorkshire's Calderdale College U19's will head to Malta this winter with two fixtures against Maltese opposition the highlight of the tour.

The college’s rugby league coach Lee Greenwood confirmed the team will play two matches, the MRL currently in talks with Gozo RL officials in a move that will see the island of Gozo holds its first official rugby fixture.

Gozo RL made their debut in the MRL Championship last season and secretary Eman Borg is excited at the idea of the club hosting a rugby league international friendly at home.

Malta coach Anthony Micallef will head coach an anticipated under 20's Maltese selection that is expected to feature Malta winger Joey Criminale and Malta XIII representatives Joe Paolella and Malcolm Lungaro-Mifsud.
