The August edition sees Paul English discover the Maltese Islands for a piece titled Island in the Sun where English recently held interviews with skipper Daniel Grima and Parramatta Eels junior Charlie Bonanno. Closer to home, English also travelled to Wrexham in Wales’ north to chat with the Crusaders’ Jarrod Sammut in ‘My First Hero’. The colourful piece has attracted a round of applause from as far as Australia, New Zealand and the UK. On the field in recent weeks, Maltese players have made their mark. Such as back rower Luke Watts scoring a try in each half as the Coventry Bears defeated Gloucestershire Warriors 60 to 24. While Luke played alongside brother Tom, in Cardiff the duo of Malta internationals in Shaun and Paul Bartlett are regularly appearing for the Cardiff Demons in the Wales Premier League, the latter recently crossing the line once in the Demons’ 42 to 28 win over Newport. RLW magazine also named Hull KR’s Ben Galea as its Lock of the Month in this month’s edition. For more information, click here. |
