| Malta Rugby League arrives at White Hart Lane |

Even a Manchester United, Liverpool or Arsenal shirt at worst case. But your eyes are bang on the money if you see the national team shirt of the Malta Rugby League (MRL). Terry Fogarty, Schedule & Project Coordinator of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, is introducing Tag Rugby into the Foundation’s Community Development Coaching Scheme, KICKZ, run by the Premier League football club. He recently met up with Rugby League counterpart Phillip Browne, Chief Executive of Try Tag Rugby Ltd. Browne, having just returned from refereeing in Malta, brought to Tottenham ‘a Malta Knights National team jersey’, to show how Rugby League really is a worldwide sport. Browne is working together with Fogarty on the Tottenham Hotspur Kickz programmes to bring Tag Rugby to the young people of North London and the surrounding areas. Fogarty quoted “I work at one of the biggest football clubs in the world and I’m an avid follower of Rugby League, being a passionate St Helens fan. I’m very proud to introduce an emerging Rugby League nation like Malta to the UK and to show that Rugby League really is a global game” “I’ve been on holidays to Malta, one of the best destinations in the world and Rugby League is one of the best sports in the world so the two go hand-in-hand” “They now have my support. I will be proudly displaying my Maltese shirt at the St Helens matches when the new Super League season kicks off” said Fogarty. MRL President Mark Sultana like many Maltese is a fan of the Spurs, saying "I have been a fan of the Spurs since I was a kid. Dad's influence of course" “I even had my uncle from Cambridge go to White hart lane and buy me a genuine jersey” “It's a bit of a tight fit these days but I still cherish it” Related links;

You'd be forgiven for thinking your eyes were playing games on you when wandering around White Hart Lane recently when one would expect to see nothing bar Tottenham Hotspur paraphernalia.
