The Malta Rugby League Championship kicked off today in Malta between the North and the South. Matthew Scerri brings us the action from St Martins College courtesy of Matthewscerri.com. The South won the opening fixture of the Championship and a full report will be online soon.  The North kick off the 2009-2010 Malta Rugby League Championship through the boot of Chris Sammut.  The South chasing down a North attack.
 Mark Seychell recovers to find a hole in the North defence after being levelled by North back-rower Kristin Baldacchino in the opening play of the game.
 Malta Knights and South back-rower Daryl Psaila on a damaging run before meeting the North's fullback.
 North's Nicky Vella returns the ball from a kick down field into his own in-goal area.
 Dario Schembri was impressive in his first game of rugby league for the South.  Former Doonside Roos junior Dean Muscat ready to spread the ball wide for the North.
 The referee brings down the curtain on the first match of the 2009-2010 domestic Championship. |
